Inspector Joe West

Biography:Joe West started his Policing Career with the Calgary Police Service in 1995, after earning a Bachelor Degree at the University of Calgary. Joe started his career with the Medicine Hat Police Service in 1997, returning to his home Community. As an MHPS member, Joe has served a number of roles throughout the Service including Patrols, the Tactical Team, the Organized Crime Section, and most recently the Major Crimes Section. Joe was born and raised in Medicine Hat and is honored to serve his home community.As a member of the Police Services Executive Team, Joe provides leadership, support and oversight to the Operational Services Division which includes: Patrols, the Traffic Unit and Municipal Bylaw Enforcement.
Support Services Division
Inspector Tim McGough
After serving six years in the British Army, Tim McGough immigrated to Canada and completed his diploma in Criminology at Mount Royal College in Calgary. Tim started his career with the Medicine Hat Police Service as a Special Constable in 1991 and since then has served in numerous units and sections of the police service in a variety of roles. These areas include: Patrols, Drug Enforcement, Firearms, Tactical Team, Professional Standards, Special Operations Unit and the Organized Crime Section.
As a member of the Police Services Executive Team, Tim provides leadership, support and oversight to the Support Services Division which includes: the Organized Crime Section, the Major Crimes Section, the Community Safety Section, the Tactical Team and the Victims Assistance Unit.
Administrative Services Division
Inspector Brent Secondiak
Brent Secondiak has been a
member of the Police Service since 1999, serving the community in a variety of
units including; The Patrol Section, The Drug Enforcement Unit, the Major
Crimes Section and the Administrative Services Section.
As a member of the Police Services Executive Team, Brent provides leadership, support and oversight to the Administrative Services Division which includes the Professional Standards Section, Training Unit, Court Unit, Information Technology Section, Information Processing Section and the Administrative Services Section.
Inspector Secondiak, was raised in several towns and cities in Southern Alberta, as his father was a member of the RCMP. Brent has lived in Calgary, Bassano, Brooks, and finally Lethbridge where he obtained a degree from the University of Lethbridge in Psychology.
In addition to policing, Inspector Secondiak enjoys volunteering in the community with the Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society, and the Community Council on Homelessness. Brent also enjoys physical activity and spending time with his family.
