On September 17, 2019 at approximately 8:27am an electric scooter being driven by a male was travelling west in the crosswalk across Maple Avenue SE from 5 Street SE. A Chrysler Intrepid was travelling north on Maple Avenue SE at the same intersection and did not yield to the male in the crosswalk and struck the electric scooter causing the male to fall off.

No injuries to the driver of the car and only minor cuts and scrapes to the driver of the electric scooter. Total damage to the involved vehicles is estimated at $500.

The female driver of the Chrysler Intrepid was given a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
