On June 29, 2024, at approximately 3:00pm, MHPS responded to an armed robbery at a business in the 1500 block of Dunmore Rd SE.  An employee of the store had been assaulted during the robbery and the suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival.  The investigation led police to a nearby apartment, where the suspect was located but refused to surrender.  Police obtained a warrant to enter the dwelling, resulting in the suspect’s arrest.  A search warrant was also obtained, allowing police to recover items related to the robbery inside the apartment. 

The suspect is identified as 36-year-old0  Kyle NEAPETUNG of Medicine Hat.  Neapetung is charged with Robbery, Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public. He was held for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing resulting in him being remanded in custody with his next court date set for July 3, 2024.
